boCHINche: A Mouthwatering Spread of Argentine Flavours and All-Time Classics

boCHINche believes in Cocina Argentina, which means to cook the Argentine way

Chef Diego Jacquet began his career in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he joined renowned Argentine Chef Francis Mallmann’s restaurants as an apprentice. In 1998, Diego was with a three Michelin star restaurant El Bulli of Chef Ferran Adria before moving to New York City, where he joined award-winning restaurant Aquavit by Chef Marcus Samuelsson.

Diego Jacquet is currently the Chef Patron at boCHINche Singapore and London’s ZOILO. Known of putting bold flavours with quality ingredients, boCHINche has a mouthwatering spread of bold Argentine flavours and all-time classics for brunch. Head Chef, Fabrice Mergalet’s, who lead the opening of boCHINche in 2013, ensures that every dish was better than the previous one.

The Classic Empanadas, which reminded us of the Indian Samosa, are reasonably priced from $6. Our favourite was the tuna with tomatoes, grilled peppers and onions. There is also a hand cut beef option or for vegetarians, spinach with goat cheese, raisins and pine nuts.

Not a huge fan of avocado but the Faina & Fried Eggs, Crushed Avocado, Coriander and “Aji Molido” Crème Fraiche ($22) was really good to share. The combination of yolk and avocado was just right.

boCHINche’s Caracu ($29), which is their beef and bone marrow burger, comes with a sunny side up, braised OX cheeks, tomatoes, house onions and pickles, is served with chimichurri and your choice of mixed salad or chips. Definitely a steal from their custom-made wood and charcoal grill!

Argentines are known to love their meat and it is no surprise that boCHINche’s custom-made wood and charcoal grill has several types of premium beef that is carefully selected, grass fed and imported from Argentina. We absolutely loved the crispy edges and the bouncy interior texture of the Ojo de Beef (Rib Eye $62) which has an overall harmonious character. Definitely the number dish on the menu.

We will highly recommend coming to boCHINche for their weekend brunch with a group of friends to be able to order several dishes in order to have a taste of everything, except the burger of course. Add $55++ per person to enjoy a turn your brunch into a bottomless boozy one with free flow Sparkling Torrontés from 11.00am - 2.30pm.

boCHINche is located at 115 Amoy Street. Call +65-6235-4990 for reservations.
