Fascinators were the highlight at the Royal Wedding last month with celebrities showing off their accessory by famous designers. While you may not be attending the Royal Wedding, these fabulous headpieces can elevate any outfit whether for a cocktail party, black tie event, wedding, or even a fancy dress party. In fact, some of these millineries even specialise in fascinators used as bridal accessories.

1. Gioielli Bespoke by Helan Tan
Ten years ago, Helan was a bridal gown designer who wished there were matching headpieces and jewellery to complement brides’ beautiful gowns. Because she was so particular about giving her brides a complete and balanced look for their special day, she started to hand make her own bridal accessories.
Delighted customers began to spread the word about Helan’s expertise in creating customized bridal accessories, and her business just kept growing. That was when she decided to stop designing gowns and specialize in millinery, setting up GIOIELLI Bespoke in 2005.
Known for using only the finest materials in her designs, Helan incorporates Swarovski elements, finest rhinestones and findings into necklaces, hair accessories and crystal bouquets.
2. The Girl With A Hat by Lise Bohrer

Currently busy creating masterpieces for Emirates Derby of Singapore, Lise Bohrer is a French designer for the Girl With a Hat and has been based in Singapore since the last 3 years. She works with a team of international milliners that provide handmade, customized hats and caps.
Coming from a crafters family, Lise’s passion for fashion and craftsmanship in lace, leather and wood was _ from a young age. A few years ago, Lise met a great artistic milliner who used to work for one of the most famous fashion houses, got tired with Parisian life and decided to set up her millinery in the countryside in the heart of France. Inspired by this milliner, Lise decided to promote French millinery abroad.
Her style is casual chic and going by the wise words of Chanel who used to say that "Luxury must be comfortable otherwise it is not luxury!"
3. Eskpade Millinery by Kristine
Kristine makes exclusive, one-of-a-kind hats, headpieces, costumes and accessories with quality material and haute couture techniques. As a theatrical costume maker, she specialises in vintage style bespoke bridal headpieces, costumes and accessories.
For customised orders, it takes at least 2 weeks, depending on the material and design. As a customer, you would bring your outfit to the studio and discuss with Kristine the kind of accessory and design that would go with the outfit according to your event or occasion.
If you’re looking for the perfect accessory to your wedding gown, Eskapade Millinery also does custom made veils for brides.

4. Luisa Vass
Luisa started making hats and headpieces in London and now lives in Singapore where she delivers private client commissions and holds workshops teaching people how to make hats and headpieces. She is renowned for her beautiful handwork and design resulting in the glamorous, feminine elegance on which she has built her reputation. Most customers are based in Singapore but take their hats far and wide such as to the Melbourne Cup and The Kentucky Derby!
Her success arises from a passion for her craft, and an understanding of the balance required for a hat to flatter and finish an outfit. She wants to take what she has learnt as a milliner and is now offering workshops so that you can learn the essential skills needed to make such beautiful headwear. Most workshops are to celebrate a hen party, birthday or even baby shower so she makes sure it isn’t all hard work but is also lots of fun.
