If you’re looking for a workout program to get you back into shape, maybe change up your existing fitness routine, kickstart your health or just look better in a pair of jeans, then this is for you. These workouts are tailored especially for anyone who is 40 years old and above.
The 40’s Project is a 28-day journey of workouts that have been developed by me and a team of sports scientists who have looked at the most effective fitness combinations for people over 40. It includes simple exercises without the need for any equipment, easy-to-follow videos, different levels according to your capability, and healthy eating and living tips as well as recipes.
Let’s take a look at one of the workouts in this project.
The 40’s Project Circuit Burner
1 circuit is equivalent to 3 sets of:
12 x Mountain Climbers
Three things to remember - start in a push-up position, tighten that core, and don’t let that butt reach for heaven.
12 x Jumping Jacks
Jumping jacks are simple to master - hands above your head, legs out. Try to work up some speed as you go along and don’t jump too high.
12 x Sit Ups
This is the CrossFit version so you have to lie down, keep your hands above your head, keep the core tight, and reach forward and touch your toes.
12 x Squats
Stand with your feet hip-width apart and toes slightly out. Push your knees out as you go down and make sure your chest is up.
After 1 circuit (3 sets), rest for 60 seconds and sip water.
Level 1 - Repeat the circuit 2 more times
Level 2 - Repeat the circuit 3 more times
