What is an evolved person? That is usually the very first question that comes to mind when we think of such a topic. An evolved person, to put it quite simply, is someone who is consciously awake (self aware) and I am not talking about being literally awake but more so someone who is fully aware of their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, opinions and who isn’t afraid to acknowledge and express who they are.

You know who you are
“Who am I?” is a question I always ask and rarely get an answer to. It is mind boggling that many of us are just living life without knowing who we really are. I get that it is scary and I am by no means saying it is easy. But if we do not stop for a second and figure ourselves out, how then would we know what we want out of life and more importantly, what is our purpose in life. So stop and get to know yourself.

You know what you want
“What do you want in life or out of life”, is always my next question that follows and I always either get a really vague response or sheer uncertainty. Many of us make time for everything else but ourselves. Try dating yourself and spending some time alone reflecting. You may just end up falling in love with yourself, which honestly isn't a bad thing.

You are in control of your destiny
My favourite quote from Benjamin Franklin that I often repeat to my team is “ if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” You have to have a plan, and only then, can you arrive at your destination and reach your goals. If you’re going about life aimlessly, you’ll probably be at the same place ten years down the line.

You surround yourself with the right people
When I used to work in the corporate world, the second I could get off work I would escape to the company of my friends, that was my number one agenda. However, I have come to realise the value of finding the perfect balance. To achieve that, one needs to paint themselves with the correct brush, and by that I mean mixing with company that challenges you, brings you up and inspires you to achieve.

You don’t compare yourself to others
A friend recently told me, look at all that you have accomplished for someone your age, you have achieved a lot more than others. I than retorted that there are a lot more who are way more successful than I am and if we were to compare, it would never end. To be honest, I am not over the moon about what I have achieved personally, I feel I can do way more but I for sure am more interested in what am I going to achieve next or what have I yet to achieve. I am at this place in my life, just as you are at yours and it is fine either way.

You do things everyday to create the future you desire
An evolved person does not procrastinate. A thought is just an idea without any action. Each day must be spent building the future you want to live in.
-
You notice the truth hidden in everything
You are deeply connected to the universe and are sensitive to even the smallest connections and lessons. Try and have the mindset that everything in this world happens for a reason, whether it is at an opportune moment or not. Grab every connection and lesson as an opportunity to learn and grow.

You want the best for yourself and others
You care deeply. “You’re always building”, was a comment that someone made, but I don’t just build for myself, I build for others. The moment you make things all about yourself, you are limiting yourself. Building a strong network doesn't only enable yourself, but the ones around you. It is mutually empowering.
