Many places such as charities, non-profit organizations, and even fashion retail stores are open for donations of unwanted items. SSVP Shop
If you love thrifting, you would definitely know about the SSVP Shop. This charity shop or thrift shop, SSVP, sells preloved items ranging from clothing, household, and more, at very affordable prices - donated items and proceeds go to helping the poor. Cloop
If you have not stumbled upon Cloop’s distinctive, bright yellow collection bins, it’s about time you do so! Their collection bins (click here for available locations) accept clothes, bags, shoes, and household items (such as toys, pillows, and linens) in any condition. Perfect for those who just decluttered their homes. Following their Cloop Cycle - these items are collected, curated, and circulated, as they spread their mission to the community.

MINDS
MINDS Shop, run by Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore, is not just a regular thrift store. They provide individuals with intellectual disabilities with training in retail and customer service sectors - which are held in their very own MINDS shops. If you’d like to donate your preloved clothes, furniture, or household items, simply drop them off at their Woodlands or Queenstown outlets during operating hours.
Refash
With over 15 outlets islandwide, you would have come across Refash. If you’ve just decluttered your wardrobe, you can sell your preloved clothes via Refash. Simply have them packed and drop them off at the listed Refash stores. Alternatively, go hassle-free by opting for courier pick-up. Get paid in cash or store credits after your items are sold. Thryft
Have any preloved clothes (or books) that you wish to trade in or donate? Thryft allows you to trade in your old clothes or books in exchange for Thryft credits, which you can use to purchase other preloved items. Or if you simply want to donate, the Thryft credits will be exchanged for cash for donation after your items are sold.

Greensquare
If your unwanted clothes are still in good condition, recycle them with Greensquare today. They accept any clothing items (such as clothes, shoes, or even bags and accessories) or household linen products that are still in good condition - these collected recyclables are then sold to second-hand textile importers in developing countries.

As part of their efforts to become more environmentally friendly, here are some retail fashion brands that have hopped on the bandwagon in launching their sustainability initiatives.
H&M
Launched in 2013, H&M’s Garment Collecting programme is available across the world. They are open to collecting preloved clothes or textiles, by any brand and in any condition. These preloved clothing items will be handled by I:CO and sorted into three categories: Rewear, Reuse and Recycle.
All you have to do is to drop by one of their stores and approach any of their staff at the cash desk to hand them your bag of old clothes (of any brand). The best part is, you get a Thank You voucher which can be used for your next H&M purchase. Sweet!
Wing Tai Retail stores (FOX Kids & Baby, G2000 and more)
In collaboration with World Wide Fund For Nature Singapore (WWF-Singapore), Wing Tai Retail is collecting unwanted clothes - which will be sorted and handled by Greensquare for repurposing.

UNIQLO (for UNIQLO products only)
Reaching out to all UNIQLO lovers! Did you know that UNIQLO has their own recycling programme? UNIQLO’s All-Product Recycling Initiative collects used clothes from UNIQLO customers, which are then distributed to people in need such as refugees and the underprivileged.

Books
Books Beyond Borders
Have too many old books that you’d like to donate? If you have 20 books or more, you can easily arrange for doorstep pickup with Books Beyond Borders - they collect and sell old books as part of their initiative to support students in rural schools in developing countries. Alternatively, drop off your old books at their building at 41 Jalan Pemimpin, Kong Beng Industrial Building.

Dignity Mama
Dignity Mama, a pilot project that started in 2012, has grown to four stalls located in Singapore hospitals. They promote a space for enabling young adults with disabilities to gain basic entrepreneurial skills through selling preloved books that are priced affordably.
Drop off your old books either at Ng Teng Fong Hospital or National University Hospital (Medical Centre). Books that you can donate include children’s books, adult fiction and non-fiction, and magazines. Visit here for a full list of accepted and unaccepted books.
Furniture, home appliances, baby items and more
Its Raining Raincoats
If you want to show your appreciation to our migrant workers by donating new or used in good condition, check out Its Raining Raincoats - a non-profit organization that aims to improve migrant workers’ welfare in Singapore. They are open to collecting items ranging from men’s personal items, luggage, furniture, home appliances and electronics, and more. Just ensure they are pristine and in good working condition.

Pass-It-On
Managed by The Helping Hand, Pass-It-On is a web platform where you can easily arrange for donations of preloved items online. That includes clothes, furniture, home appliances, and more. Donated items will be matched by Voluntary Welfare Organizations (VWOs) for their needy clients. You can either look through their wish list comprising requested items from the needy or list the items you wish to donate by adding to their item list.
