Designer duo Rabani and Rakha is showcasing their collection in Singapore for the very first time.
‘Rabani’ began as a hobby of couple Rahul and Shibani Rastogi in the year 1999. Their love for design inspired them to build their label which then rapidly grew as their label was sold in the finest boutiques not just in India but around the world. A few years later, Gautam Rakha joined the couple and took the label a notch higher. Rabani’s details and embroidery perfectly complimented the design and marketing aesthetics of Gautam Rakha thus giving birth to the label Rabani & Rakha.

The label swiftly attained critical appeal from insiders and clientele in the fashion industry. Known for the attention to details and innovation in design, Rabani and Rakha, have created a space in the heart of anyone who has worn their designs. In a very short time, they have gained a strong clientele following which includes Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities such as Deepika Padukone, Kajol, Victoria Beckham and many alike.

Team Vanilla Luxury scored an exclusive interview with the designer duo regarding their upcoming collection and showcase in Singapore on the 17th of February 2016 at the Hilton Singapore.
Vanilla Luxury: Is this your first showcase in Singapore?
Rabani & Rakha: Yes, this is going to be our first showcase in Singapore.
Vanilla Luxury: What are you looking forward to the most during your trip to Singapore?
Rabani & Rakha: What we looking forward to the most is meeting the warm friendly people in Singapore first and foremost. Secondarily we are also looking into exploring a totally new client base who is fashion forward and have their own individual sense of style.
Vanilla Luxury: What would you describe as a classic and timeless style?
Rabani & Rakha: A classic and timeless style in terms of an ensemble would have to be the Indian Saree. Style is basically just owning up to who you really are.
Vanilla Luxury: Who or What is your inspiration? Where does your design aesthetic come from
Rabani & Rakha: Our inspiration mainly comes from our own rich and cultural heritage in India. Whether it’s the architecture in India or the amazing Mughal jewelry.
Vanilla Luxury: From working with A-list Bollywood celebrities such as Rekha, Kajol and Deepika Padukone , down to the working with world famous Elizabeth Hurley and Victoria Beckham – Who is your favourite muse?

Vanilla Luxury: What do you think has been the biggest change in the Indian fashion Industry in the past 10 years?
Rabani & Rakha: It has to be how the sense of style of not just every individual designer but also clients have changed. Clients seem to know more of exactly what they want rather than how years back when they would just leave everything up to the designer.
Vanilla Luxury: With the rise of Indian-Western clothing, where do you think is the Indian Fashion Industry headed to?
Rabani & Rakha: The possibilities are endless and we are guaranteed that we are headed in the right direction.

Rabani & Rakha: We are bringing in our Luxury Pret line into Singapore. We believe this is the perfect collection keeping in mind the fashion conscious clients we are expecting to meet at the exhibit.

Rabani & Rakha: Always be comfortable in your own skin. Never try to be who you are not and understand your body well and dress accordingly.
