If you’re looking for a slice of paradise in Asia for your next luxury holiday, The Lalu Sun Moon Lake is a must visit. We cannot imagine a more ideal place to put everything else on pause than The Lalu Sun Moon Lake. Former Taiwan President, Chiang Kai-Shek would most certainly agree as The Lalu Sun Moon Lake was his favourite vacation spot.
Accommodation
The Lalu Lakeside Suites embrace the mountainside view with an endless rise in emerald colouring. Each Lakeview Suite One-Bedroom has a spacious living room and two individual bedrooms - perfect luxury relaxation for the whole family. And if you’re looking for a second honeymoon, you can be ensured individual privacy with the separate rooms, but still be close to your children.
Facilities
The Lalu Sun Moon Lake offers all the facilities and services you would expect from a luxury hotel. Take advantage of their babysitting service and enjoy a picnic by the lake or a day at the spa. The spa is exceptional, equipped with a sauna, a steam room, hot tub and more amenities than most, you’ll be enticed to make this a daily visit during your stay. After your massage, step out onto the spa balcony and soak in the stillness of your surroundings.
Athletes and yogis alike will surely find a second home here. The Lalu Sun Moon Lake has a fully equipped gym, an overflowing infinity pool reflecting the spectacular scenery, a running or cycling trail circling the property, and multiple yoga classes throughout the day.
We took advantage of the Hatha yoga class by the pool, but The Lalu Sun Moon Lake offers so much space coupled with spectacular views, leaving really no restrictions as to where you can Asana.
Dining
Whether you wake up hungry or work your way into an appetite, you can indulge in Japanese cuisine, Western cuisine and of course, Chinese cuisine at The Lalu Sun Moon Lake
One of the most diverse breakfast buffets we’ve experienced to date can be found in The Oriental Brasseries. The Oriental Brasseries offer a combination of Chinese, Japanese, and Western dishes, leaving you fulfilled and ready to start your day.
Enjoy a multi-course meal at either the Lake View Chinese restaurant, the Japanese restaurant, or both. We, of course, opted for the latter and have no regrets. If you choose to visit either restaurant for dinner, make sure you go hungry. You can either order a la carte or select their prefixed multi-course menu for a full spectrum of traditional dishes, respectively.
Now you can’t be in Asia without at some point sampling the tea. No better place than the Tea House for small European style bites and a variety of teas to enjoy, all the while seated at the heart of a Koi fish pond. In case you were wondering, yes, you can feed the fish.
Must See
Within a short drive of the hotel, there are several beautiful and contrasting temples, definitely worth a visit.
Families and couples alike can find a day of adventure and fun at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. There you will find an impressive museum dedicated to the aboriginal villages, an amusement park, and the Sun Moon Lake ropeway which is the ideal method for travel between these locations. We chose the glass bottom gondola for a full 360-degree panoramic view of the lake and mountains. The line is going to be longer for this since there is only one, so plan ahead if you’re crunched for time.
Thanks to one of the promotions offered by The Lalu Sun Moon Lake in partnership with Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village during this year’s cherry blossom season, we were able to enjoy a delicious picnic amidst the cherry blossom trees.
For another unique perspective of the lake and mountains, consider taking a boat out onto the lake itself. Visit one of the pier plazas where you can take a public charter or opt for a private charter for a more intimate experience. We used Oriental Yacht private charter and had a wonderful time. For more info, feel free to reach out to her on Instagram @orientalyacht6688. If this is your first encounter with street food in Taiwan, don’t miss out on the stands leading up to the pier where a variety of enticing smells and delicious bites are sure to draw you in.
Regardless of your reason for travel, whether it be a corporate event, vacation, wedding or a special occasion, The Lalu Sun Moon Lake will cover all your needs and more. Visit this gem on your next trip to paradise.
