Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, took place at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in South Korea. The long-awaited news was revealed at a live awards ceremony yesterday.
Created from the votes of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, a notable gender-balanced consortium of 318 experts comprised of food writers and critics, chefs, restaurateurs, and regional culinary leaders, this year’s roster showcases restaurants from 19 cities across the region, with eight new entries.
Tokyo’s Sezanne Climbs To No.1 Position
After last year’s announcement, it’s no surprise that Sézanne has moved from second to first place. The restaurant previously held the No.15 position in 2022.
Headed by chef Daniel Calvert, Sézanne showcases neo-French cuisine dishes, weaving premium Japanese ingredients into modern classics. Located on the seventh floor of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunichi, the restaurant draws its creativity and inspiration from France's Champagne region.
Singapore Drives The Rankings With Nine Entries - Odette Remains Top 10
The list sees Singapore shine with nine notable establishments, spearheaded by Odette at No.10. Fusing exceptional hospitality with classic French gastronomy, Chef Julien Royer's Odette has maintained a steadfast presence in the top 10 since 2017. Burnt Ends, the contemporary barbecue venue by Dave Pynt, rode nine places to claim the No.15 spot, while Euphoria, helmed by Chef Jason Tan and renowned for its 'gastro botanica' fare, secures No.20. Born, celebrated for its innovative blend of contemporary French and Chinese flavors, ascends five positions to No.25. Continuing down the list, Meta was placed at No.28, followed by Labyrinth at No.30 and Les Amis at No.38.
