One notable highlight of Meliá Chiang Mai is their “Farm to Plate” practice which allows them to source the freshest ingredients from their organic farm which we had the pleasure of visiting. Their “Plate to Farm” initiative ensures leftovers are returned to the farm as compost and leftover cooking oil is sent to be recycled into biodiesel. Not only do guests eat healthier but are part of their sustainability initiatives too.

Mai Restaurant & Bar
Mai Restaurant & Bar is a fine-dining restaurant serving contemporary Northern Thai dishes with Mediterranean influences. The menu highlights traditional Lanna cuisine and each dish is so distinctive due to the mix of ingredients and textures.
We were blown away tasting the “Mai’s Samplers” which has 5 different delicacies - crisp fried fluffy catfish and pomelo salad scented with rice field crab jus, Vietnamese sausage and edible flowers salad roll with yellow chilli puree, Grilled green chilli relish on crispy salmon skin, Northern Thai-style pork sausage with grilled ginger and pickled cucumber and Warm spicy tomato relish in golden-fried tortilla.
A main course that we absolutely could not get enough of was their ‘Pappardelle Soi Neur’ , which is a homemade pappardelle with creamy Khao Soi curry sauce and slices of seared Australian sirloin, served with homemade pickled vegetables and chilli oil.
Mai Restaurant & Bar is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm - 10pm.
Mai The Sky Bar - The Highest Rooftop Bar in Chiang Mai
Mai The Sky Bar is the tallest rooftop bar in Chiang Mai perched on the 22nd level of Meliá Chiang Mai. This 360-degree rooftop bar affording awe-inspiring views of the Ping River, famed Doi Suthep Temple on a mountain top and breathtaking sunset views.
Mai The Sky Bar serves an array of authentic Spanish tapas, pinchos and Thai-style bites. The bar offers a vast selection of beverages, including cocktails, wines and spirits. Do try the different types of rums made in Thailand.
Thai and international DJs spin Spanish and Latin music from 8pm Thursday to Sunday. Destined to be “the place to be” in Chiang Mai, the bar will host monthly themed parties throughout 2023 featuring guest artist line-ups.

YHI SPA-Meliá Chiang Mai
Inspired by the goddess YHI, Meliá Chiang Mai’s spa uses ancient Asian healing wisdom combined with modern wellness techniques. The menu at YHI spa consists of treatments such as facials, body massages, scrubs, and wraps, hydrotherapy, manicure and pedicure.
With 7 treatment rooms following an underwater theme and a Thai herbal sauna and steam room, YHI Spa’s treatments are based on organic Thai wellness brand HARNN’s products, made with natural ingredients via methods handed down the generations of Thai artisans.
YHI Spa even caters to children aged 6 to 12 years old with a 45 minute or 60 minute “Kids Therapy” which helps to prevent hyperactivity by starting with stretching and animal yoga poses before a gentle massage with HARNN coconut oils to stop skin irritation.
We highly recommend YHI Spa’s 90 minute signature treatment that starts out with “Tok Sen”, an ancient Northern Thai massage that relaxes the muscles with the rhythmic tapping motion of a wooden hammer and stick made from a tamarind tree. The treatment transitions into a unique Spanish massage that strives to reduce cellulite, tighten the skin’s flabbiness, and relieve fatigue, tension, and muscle spasms.
