Fancy a Staycation on a Bus? We Review The Bus Collective Singapore
Why go for a conventional bus ride when you can have a lavish staycation onboard? The Bus Collective, Southeast Asia’s first resort hotel, has a unique concept of refurbished buses that have been transformed into grand hotel rooms and can accommodate various groups, from couples to families. To make your stay even more memorable, you can even host your own BBQ party with the grill and outdoor seating area.
These buses are also a stone’s throw away from Changi Village Hawker Centre, where you get to feast on local delights. Alternatively, they have other charming establishments such as Downtown East, Jewel Changi Airport and M Club Changi, a short ride away, for other entertaining activities.
We recently stayed at The Bus Collective to see why this exciting addition to the East makes for the perfect staycation in Singapore for friends and family. Read on to discover what The Bus Collective has to offer so you can make your reservations in time!
We Review the The Bus Collective Singapore
20 Unique Refurbished Buses For a Luxurious Getaway in the East
You will find The Bus Collective and their impressive 20 single-decker decommissioned buses at Changi Village, surrounded by nature and the local F&B scene. Spanning over 8,600 square metres of land and natural lighting, you will have plenty of space to take dreamy OOTD pictures and selfies for your Instagram feed.
If you have ever been curious about the “van-life” lifestyle, this is the closest you will get to experiencing it firsthand - just more luxurious! With rooms of 45 square metres each and an array of different interiors, these stylish rooms come with bunk beds, twin beds, and king and queen-sized beds that can comfortably fit groups of friends and family.
While the location might be far, great customer service and scenic views make up for the travel time.
The Queen Victoria Room - The Bus Collective Singapore
We checked into their Queen Victoria Room, which can host at least three people with its queen bed and sofa bed. They have a stocked minibar, separate rooms for the toilet and shower with premium toiletries, and a comfortable sofa bed where you can lounge in the middle of the bus. The room also includes two television screens: one near the sofa and one in the sleeping area, so you can conveniently watch your favourite television series no matter where you are on the private bus.
We can’t forget one of the main highlights of this bus hotel: the driver’s seat. Adults and children will also enjoy being behind the wheel for the first time by getting a feel of what it is like being a bus driver.
Fun fact! if you book your luxurious room for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, you will find an adorable stuffed bear decked out in a bus captain outfit be taken home as a souvenir.
Keep in mind that while the suite makes full use of the limited space on it, moving from place to place might get a bit tight, especially if you are trying to make your way to the front and back of the bus. Also, if you are coming as a group, you might need to pack light as there are limited cupboard spaces.

Watch Gorgeous Sunrises and Sunsets With a Chill BBQ Experience
Outside your luxury suite is a comfortable seating area with a trendy grill and sink so you can have a picturesque BBQ experience as the sun sets. You can even order food sets for grilling from their newly-opened restaurant and bar, BUSKing by Villa 555 Thai. They have bundles for groups of two, five and ten people and include halal BBQ ingredients on their menu.
You don’t have to worry about bringing your own BBQ gear and accessories. They provide chiller bags, charcoal, tongs, brushes, wire mesh and more for an additional fee.
During our staycation, we also enjoyed their in-house breakfast at the same eatery in the morning. We tried the Plant-Based Tuna Sandwich, which comes with a croissant and avocado filling - it was a simple meal but packed with flavour.
The Bus Collective - Staycations and Much More
Aside from sleeping on wheels, you can also head down to Jewel Changi Airport to splurge on shopping and dining during your stay. Or, if you want a fun-filled day of entertainment, the nearby Downtown East has water parks, arcades and bowling alleys for you and your friends to enjoy. Not forgetting the night festivities from M Club Changi where you can sing your heart out to your favourite tunes or watch performances from live bands and DJs.
Quiet, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, The Bus Collective beckons you to come onboard with their unique upcycled buses as a place for relaxation and recuperation. You can discover more about The Bus Collective through their Facebook and Instagram pages.
