Ahimsa Sanctuary – Wholesome Vegan Restaurant and Yoga Studio
Ahimsa Sanctuary recently made an appearance at the new food hall at the biannual Boutiques Singapore, and it’s a space to watch– this vegan restaurant, cafe and yoga studio is on a mission to become the next hot wellness sanctuary. With a beautiful courtyard, plant-based dishes from burrito bowls to overnight oats, and relaxed, beach resort vibes, it’s hard to believe that this retreat is tucked behind the shophouses on busy Neil Road.
The menu currently features an M*Spicy burger– a vegan version of the famous McSpicy burger with a lion’s mane mushroom patty, as well as savoury dishes full of vegetables and superfoods: the Tomato Dipper bowl, one of the restaurant’s most popular items, is a bowl of luscious tomato paste with tofu ricotta, moringa cashew pesto, garlic cashewnaise, chill flakes, and Italian basil, served with sourdough bread for dipping. The burrito selection includes the likes of the Brekkie-On-The-Go breakfast burrito, made with scrambled tofu, sliced avocado, lettuce, kale, pickled onions, breakfast potatoes, and spicy tangy aioli. The Spiced Comfort overnight oats bowl has caught our eye too– made with chai overnight oats, spiced apple, vanilla almond granola and cinnamon nuts, this cosy concoction can be served warm or cold.
Ahimsa Sanctuary regularly holds wellness classes, events, and collaborations with other restaurants– a collaboration with plant-based start-up Jungle Kitchen in February saw spiced vegan ceviche, paella and flan join a limited-edition menu. More than a vegan restaurant, Ahimsa Sanctuary champions healthy living, holistic wellness, and a love of wholesome food.
Ahimsa Sanctuary is located at 76 Neil Road, in Singapore, postal code 088840. Book your table on the website.

Kunthaville – Authentic Vegetarian Sri Lankan Cuisine in Singapore
Kunthaville transports you instantly into the idyllic fields of Sri Lanka in its teahouse and restaurant in Little India, which serves up teas straight from its own Ceylonese plantations and a range of modern and traditional dishes. Everything in this restaurant is artfully designed and painstakingly executed: beautiful arched ceilings, vintage furniture, luxurious tea sets– even the decor in the bathroom is picture-perfect. There are both tea menus and a la carte menus, as well as the signature six-course tasting menu– they follow the cherished family recipes of founder Kuntha Chelvanathan, and take you on a culinary tour of Sri Lanka. This menu includes a tea tasting session, so you’ll get to sample the restaurant’s signature product.
The first two courses, beetroot cutlets and jackfruit rolls, are tangy, lightly spiced and cooked to tender perfection. There’s even a soup on the menu– the historically-inspired Colonial Soup Tureen, a blend of roasted butternut pumpkin that notes Ceylon’s place at the crossroads of the world. Next comes an appam dish with slow-cooked caramelised onions, and then the Signature Curry Leaf Coconut Rice set, a sampler of bold flavours on a single plate. Falooda, a dessert of sago pearls and ruby and emerald pearls in coconut cream, rounds off the meal– a perfect tropical indulgence. Amazingly, this luscious meal is absolutely vegan.
Kunthaville is located at 18 Veeraasamy Road, in Singapore, postal code 207326. Reserve your table online.

The Kind Bowl – Environmentally Conscious Vegan Vietnamese Food
The Kind Bowl’s Vietnamese phos, banh mis, salads and rice plates are true food from the heart: established in line with current environment-saving efforts, this takeout-style restaurant sources sustainable ingredients for a modern yet eco-friendly menu. Plant-based foods have the effect of a lighter carbon footprint, and switching to just one plant-based meal a month, according to the restaurant’s founders, can make the difference.
The star of The Kind Bowl’s mains is the Saigon Delight, a banh mi created with OMNI luncheon meat by the restaurant’s own Vietnamese Executive Chef. The OMNI luncheon is grilled and glazed with barbeque sauce and caramelised soy sauce, and accompanied by homemade walnut mushroom pate, vegan Vietnamese ham, and fresh pickles and herbs. The sandwich comes with a bowl of hot and spicy Vietnamese soup in a set for a quick, authentic experience.
Another popular choice is the Summer Roll, a refreshing rice roll filled with soy-based seitan and tofu, fresh pickles and herbs, and served with spicy sauce on the side. The restaurant also does V Wings, an exclusive house-made “chicken drumstick” dish made with seitan, mixed mushroom and beancurd, fried and served with ginger chili sauce.
The Kind Bowl has three locations. To order, visit the website– they do islandwide delivery!

VeganBurg – Beloved Vegan Burger Restaurant in Singapore
VeganBurg, the world’s first entirely plant-based burger restaurant, was founded in 2010 at its now-iconic Eunos site, and has gone on to international stardom: it’s been endorsed by the likes of Steve Aoki and Paul McCartney, named one of the World’s Best Vegan Burgers on Burgerabroad.com, and was the official catering partner for the Singapore leg of Taylor Swift’s Red Tour in 2014. Today, in 2025, VeganBurg can be considered a staple of Singapore’s vegan food scene, with classic burgers like Smoky BBQ and “chicken” buffalo, as well as localised tastes like the Chili Krab.
One of VeganBurg’s bestsellers is the Shrooms Burg, which features a crispy soy patty, fresh lettuce, dairy-free cream sauce, button mushrooms and pepper in a wholemeal bun. A twist on satay, the Char-Grilled Satay burger, contains a soy patty drenched with sweet, smoky satay sauce, with lettuce, onion, cucumber and ground peanut. Any burger on the menu can be made low-carb or gluten-free, with lettuce wraps, gluten free buns, and Impossible patties available for customisation. We couldn’t leave without a look at the restaurant’s famous sides: creamy garlic fries with vegan mayo, “chicken” nuggets and tenders, “fish” fingers, and sweet potato fries, among others. Of course, you can get a soft-serve: plant-based with a creamy vanilla base, easily paired with various toppings.
VeganBurg is located at 44 Jalan Eunos, in Singapore, postal code 419502. To order, visit their website.

WellSmoocht – Vegan Ice Cream, Dessert and Brunch Cafe In The Neighbourhood
WellSmoocht is the definition of a neighbourhood cafe– serving up everything from burgers to pizzas, ice cream and cake, this cafe is entirely vegan, dairy-free and eggless, and endlessly creative. Originally situated in Sin Ming, the cafe is now tucked away under a housing block in Yuhua, Jurong, where warm lights welcome you in.
There’s a definite Southeast Asian inflection to most of the menu at WellSmoocht: they’ve come up with their own versions of regional cuisines like curried cauliflower and tofu with rice, as well as coffee creations like the Iced Americano. The menu features a Curried Pumpkin Soup, nachos with smoky soy bits, salads like Tempeh Sesame, and the Olive Buddha Bowl: beans, corn, carrot, marinated mushroom, guac and tofu scramble on rice. There’s even burgers: the Pow Wow Bao features pulled jackfruit with house marinade and nacho cheese sauce.
The vegan ice cream, named “R’ice Cream” on the menu and presumably made from rice, comes in an impressive selection of flavours– for a venue outside central Singapore, it’s flattering how they don’t stick to the usual dark chocolate. Flavours are seasonal, but look out for mango passionfruit lassi, sea salt gula melaka, and classic pistachio.
WellSmoocht is located at 319 Jurong East Street 31, unit #01-58, in Singapore, postal code 600319. To reserve a table, visit their website.

Warung Ijo – Singapore’s First Vegetarian Indonesian Restaurant
Singapore’s first vegetarian Indonesian restaurant, Warung Ijo, does all the classics with a meat-free twist– this restaurant is allium-free, alcohol-free, and vegan friendly. This cosy storefront is home to plenty of loaded rice plates for one, vegan fish in spicy sauces like assam fish and gulai fish, a full menu section dedicated to petai, and nods to local culture like the satay bee hoon.
One of Warung Ijo’s signature dishes is the lion’s mane rendang, a vegan version of beef rendang made with pulled lion’s mane mushroom. The nasi padang plate, a classic Indonesian mixed rice dish, contains this, a sambal balado egg, sayur lodeh, vegetables in a fragrant coconut broth, veggie fritters and lemongrass tofu– a little of the best of the menu.
There’s also several uses of tempeh, as the vegan protein does originate in Indonesia– the Balado Tempeh and Tahu features tempeh and tofu cubes cooked in the restaurant's house-made balado gravy. The traditional tempeh dish Tempeh Bacem has tempeh braised in spices and herbs, then pan-fried for a lighter but still aromatic finish.
Warung Ijo is located at 601 MacPherson Road, Grantral Mall Taiseng, unit #01-61, in Singapore, postal code 368242. To order, visit the website.

Ki Su Shoujin Omakase – Vegan Omakase Restaurant on Tras Street
We’ve shown our love for omakase before– the endlessly creative, experiential dining concept that simply means having the chef pick out your meal. Of course, vegan omakase exists– Ki Su Shoujin Omakase, in Singapore’s foodie capital Tras Street, is an elevated vegan French-Japanese restaurant that’s the first of its kind.
Ki Su’s ten-course dinner menu features a pre-appetiser, appetisers, four kinds of nigiri sushi, a truffle pâté dish, a dish named Charcoal Blossom, Shiro Miso, Mertensia Uni, an entrée, soup and dessert. As with most omakase menus, what you’ll be getting is a little of a mystery, but we can expect egg yolk toast with air-flown tonburi caviar, a “beetroot cigar”, and a dish named the Crystalline Ice Plant– part delicacy, part artistry. The menu is similar at lunch, but the main courses are replaced by Yakimono and Golden Temaki– more quintessentially Japanese, but equally delicious.
If you’re dining with little ones, check out the Kids’ Omakase Menu, a seven-course meal available at both lunch and dinner with seaweed pizza, Golden Temaki, and a dish named the Banana Garden.
Ki Su is located at 60 Tras St, #01-01, in Singapore, postal code 078999. Reserve a table online.

Original Sin – Mediterranean Vegan Restaurant in Singapore Since 1997
Amidst the flurry of new restaurants moving in and out of Singapore, Original Sin has stood the test of time: first opening in 1997, it’s been a cornerstone of Singapore’s vegan dining scene since the beginning. The restaurant is named after the famous Sistine Chapel fresco, and offers a relaxing alfresco dining experience over their famous mosaic tables and glasses of wine.
Original Sin’s short menu of impressive-looking salads contains the classic Falafel salad, topped with Spanish onion, feta and a yoghurt mint and lemon citrus dressing, and the Principessa, a stately mix of roasted pumpkin, avocado, asparagus, marinated mushrooms, tomato and bocconcini with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Much of the menu, like the Mezze Platter, is made for sharing– even the mains, like spanakopita, moussaka, and tandoori skewers, require you to work up an appetite. The selection of pizzas and pastas are interesting– a Kashmir Pizza with hummus and tandoori makes an appearance– as well as an extensive selection of wines, largely of Australian, New Zealand, and European origin.
Original Sin is located at Jalan Merah Saga, Chip Bee Gardens, Block 43, unit #01-62, in Singapore, postal code 278115. Reserve your table online.
