In celebration of National Day, Singapore’s coveted restaurants and hotels have rolled out special buffets, high-teas and brunches. The uniquely Singaporean menus pay homage to the foodie’s paradise with dishes that celebrate the diversity of our local cuisine.
1. The St. Regis National Day Champagne Brunch
This National Day, raise a toast to Singapore’s 52nd birthday with an exquisite brunch experience at The St. Regis Singapore. Delight in an indulgent afternoon of local-inspired cuisine beginning with a selection of tantalising butler-passed canapés such as Braised Pork Belly with Lotus Leaf Bun, Double-boiled Prawn Soup with Wolfberries, and Wok-fried Black Pepper Wagyu Beef.
Alongside these is a stunning array of salads, cold cuts, and fresh seafood on ice (featured image above), as well as wonderful live station delights such as Peking Duck, Popiah, and Nyonya Kueh Pie Tee. The afternoon of refined epicurean indulgences paired with exquisite champagne is enhanced with an enthralling live music performance.

2. The Garage
Botanico presents a selection of specially created dishes that harmoniously melds seasonal produce at their best and freshest with vibrant and robust local flavours. Relish the Tamarind Seabass Ceviche with ‘Hei Ko’, Ibérico Char Siew, and the unique thirst-quencher, Chendol Colada Cocktail – a mix of rum, ‘gula melaka’ syrup, pineapple juice and coconut cream, topped with rice flour jelly.
To heighten the celebrations of this momentous occasion, diners dressed in red and white on 9th August, will enjoy a free scoop of ice cream when they dine at Bee’s Knees; limited to one redemption per diner.

3. Plate at Carlton National Day Buffet
If you’re looking for a venue that will stream the National Day Parade live while you enjoy Singapore’s favourite dishes, Plate is the place to go.
Plate pays homage to Singapore's 52 years of culinary history with a buffet spread of local delicacies. Expect iconic hawker dishes such as Singapore Chilli Crab, Black Pepper Crab, Laksa, Hokkien Noodles, Bak Kut Teh with Fried Dough Fritters, Grilled Satay Skewers, Roti Prata with Vegetable Curry and more to make an appearance in the feast.
The spread will also feature fresh seafood on ice, a dedicated Japanese selection of sashimi and sushi, a salad and an appetiser bar, a live pasta station and a carving station featuring roasts such as Slow-Roasted Prime Rib Beef and Barbecued Pork Ribs. Round off the gastronomic journey with local desserts such as Durian Pengat, Tau Suan, Signature Muah Chee and a Make-Your-Own Ice Kachang and Chendol station.

4. Garang Grill Chilli Crab Mantou

6. TWG Tea
Between 7 and 13 Aug 2017, TWG Tea Salons and Boutiques in Singapore will be rolling out a special National Day set menu. The menu features TWG Tea’s rendition of local delights such as the artisanal Laksa Risotto served with Hokkaido scallops and tiger prawns infused with Earl Grey Gentleman. For chili crab lovers, there is the pasta accompanied with soft shell crab tempura fritters infused with Tokyo Singapore Tea. The set, priced at $35, comes with a choice of hot or iced tea and an a tea-infused dessert.
